Volunteering
Volunteering is one of the best ways you can support your local community. There are many local and national charities, community groups and good causes who provide a wide range of services to the local community. Many of them rely almost entirely on volunteers. Volunteering your time and skills could make all the difference. In return, you could develop new skills and make new friends.
There are lots of easy ways to give your time to help others - from having a cup of tea with an elderly neighbour, to helping out in your local area or making a regular commitment to volunteer with a charity or community group.
Dover District Volunteering Centre is a charity that matches potential volunteers to organisations that are seeking volunteers. Advice is also offered on all volunteering issues to volunteers and voluntary and community groups.
We're a charity and we run a free national self service online platform for charities to find people with skills and vice versa. Last year over 1,000 people found roles with us in a wide range of professional and business roles across the UK.
