All tenants are given an opportunity to complete a Tenant Survey from August to December 2025, this forms part of the Tenant Satisfaction Measures 2025/26, sent to the Regulator of Social Housing.
We ask tenants to complete the survey for multiple important reasons, which include:
- To hear voices – particularly of those we haven’t otherwise heard from.
- To act upon the results, designing our service influenced by tenants.
- To see how our performance has (hopefully) improved year on year and identify areas we need to focus on.
- To send results to Regulator of Social Housing to compare nationally and to ensure we’re delivering quality services.
We choose not to instruct an external market research company to complete this survey as we feel it is a wasted opportunity to spend time with and speak to our tenants. All contact with residents is valuable insight and helps us build strong relationships with our tenants and building a trusted service.
All tenants receive a copy of the Tenant survey in the post with their delivery of the Newsletter, we include a freepost envelope and a QR code to complete the survey online for inclusively. To help us reach our target of 700 responses, we also use methods such as over the phone, in person and via a links in emails, text messages and online.
All responses are verified against tenancies, so we can be assured that we are not receiving any responses from people who are not tenants or multiple surveys from one address.
Statistical Representativeness
To ensure we are listening to a wide variety of voices, we check our surveys against what we know about our tenant population. We match our survey responses to the following:
- Age
- Location of property (town, village, estate)
- Property type (house, flat and independent living)
If we find that we are missing responses from particular areas, we will seek to collect surveys from those areas.
We ask survey respondents to provide their age and ethnicity to help ensure that the information we hold on our residents is kept up to date and accurate. All surveys are matched against details in our Tenancy Management System.
Prize Draw
To encourage and incentive the survey, we offer 3 chances to win £100 in vouchers. This will be independently and randomly selected by Cllr Pamela Brivio, Portfolio Holder for Housing, Skills and Education in January 2026.
