Repairs in communal areas

Mears are responsible for the lights on communal stairs and hallways, communal doors and repairs to any shared areas. If you notice any repair within a shared area, please don’t assume that someone else has already reported it as it may remain unreported for some time.

You can report a communal repair direct to our contractors by going to our report a repair section.

Please remember to keep communal staircases, corridors, hallways, landings and external areas (including bin stores) tidy, safe and free of obstructions.

Mears arrange cleaning for communal areas in blocks of flats / maisonettes and the immediate surrounding areas. The cleaning is done on Mears' behalf by Town and Country Cleaners, generally on a weekly basis.

There is a noticeboard in each block of flats we manage which will have a cleaning schedule on it.  Town and Country staff will sign this every time they visit and tick what work they have done. 

Please help the cleaners by keeping communal areas free of stored items and rubbish.
