Job offers were made, interviews secured and training opportunities snapped up!
Figures now in show that more than 500 people attended the third Big Dover Jobs and Volunteering Fair to find out about work opportunities in the area.
The annual event was organised by Dover District Council (DDC), the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and Port of Dover, with Stagecoach providing a free shuttle bus throughout the day.
Twenty-five employers attended along with 19 skills and voluntary options providers to share potential opportunities with those who came along.
Figures so far show that during the event, 23 provisional job offers were made as well as a significant number of sign-ups to volunteer placements.
Further job offers, interviews and opportunities are expected over the coming weeks as a result of the event.

DDC leader Cllr Kevin Mills said: “This year’s event was a huge success, attracting hundreds of people with some walking away with potential job offers, voluntary placements or training opportunities.
“Residents found out about the career opportunities in the area, and employers were able to see the wealth of talent and experience we have here in our district.”
Maria Landers, DWP’s customer service leader for Dover and Canterbury, said: “It was fantastic to see so many people attend the Jobs and Volunteering Fair and get the chance to talk directly to employers and providers.”
