What goes where on Recycling Day
On recycle day your mixed recycling (Glass, tins, mixed plastics etc.) is taken directly to the rear of the freighter where it is lifted into the left pod. Paper and Card from your black box is emptied into the right pod.
Food waste from your green bin is tipped into a ‘slave’ wheelie bin, and then taken to the next property. When the slave bin is full it is taken to the freighter and presented at the lift behind the crews cab where its lifted and tipped into the food pod. Batteries are put into the pod along the left side of the freighter.
What goes where - Refuse day
A different type of freighter is used, this vehicle only collects refuse and food. Refuse is taken directly to the rear where it is lifted into the left pod. Food waste from your green bin is tipped into a ‘slave’ wheelie bin, and then taken to the next property. When the slave bin is full it is presented directly to the rear of the freighter where it is lifted into the right pod.
Note
The same crew collects on both weeks, whilst this is the normal collection method, If you live down a narrow road or track different collections method will apply.
