Garden Competition

Dust off your dibblers and plant some pansies, the Garden Competition rus every summer.

Dover District Council run an annual Garden Competition in partnership with the Dover District Tenants' Consultative Group to celebrate the hard work of our most talented gardeners.

In 2024, we included a whole new category for residents with small, large or unusual spaces, recognising the unique challenges residents face with different spaces. The categories are:

  • Front Garden - Open to all gardens, large and small
  • Back Garden- Any size, anywhere!
  • Most Improved - Have you mutual exchanged? Recently signed up? or have you been on a mission to tackle the weeds?
  • Best Use of Space - Only got a small space to work with? Or do you have a big or unusual space? This is the perfect category to showcase your balcony, hanging baskets, allotment, greenhouse or however you've used the space you've got.

Rules of the competition:

      • Entries must be from Tenants or leaseholders of Dover District Council
      • Previous winners may enter
      • Residents are permitted to enter more than one category
      • By entering you agree that Dover District Council may share your address and contact information with the judges for the purpose of judging the garden competition
      • You must enter online and complete the entry form. However, if you'd like to do this over the phone, please contact Housing on 01304 801084, and select option 8. We will be able to complete it on your behalf.
