Building Control

  • Building regulations are minimum standards for building work.
  • If you're building something new, or making changes to an existing building, you are likely to need building regulations approval.
  • Building regulations approval is different from  planning permission, you might need both.
  • The Dover District Local Plan was adopted on 16th October 2024. It replaced the Core Strategy (2010), the Land Allocations Plan (2015) and ‘saved’ policies in the Dover District Local Plan (2002). Please see Dover District Local Plan to 2040 for more information on the new adopted Local Plan.
